Into Bohol

- Fly Manila or Cebu to Bohol (Panglao) — about 1–1.5h
Arrive on Panglao and settle in near the beach. If time allows, an afternoon Balicasag or Alona snorkel; otherwise rest for the countryside tomorrow.
Day 2
Chocolate Hills & Balicasag

Cross to south Cebu

March to June brings the calmest, clearest water for Balicasag and the Moalboal sardines, and the Chocolate Hills turn cocoa-brown from about February to May. The wider dry season works; marine days can be called off on rough-sea days year-round, so keep them flexible.

🧭 Getting around

Fly into Bohol (Panglao) and out of Cebu (or the reverse) to avoid backtracking; a fast ferry links the two islands in about two hours, and a hired van or car covers the south-Cebu coast. Balicasag and the Moalboal reef are reached by local banca with sanctuary fees paid on the day.

Know before you go

It's a full four days — flying into one island and out of the other keeps it from becoming a backtrack.
Balicasag caps daily visitors and can close in rough seas; keep the marine morning flexible.
You can see the Moalboal sardines while snorkelling from shore — no boat needed — but mind the drop-off and current, and keep off the coral.
Ferry and road times are approximate and shift with sea state and traffic.

Fly into Panglao, ride the countryside to the Chocolate Hills, drop onto Balicasag’s coral wall at dawn, then cross to Cebu for a turquoise waterfall and one of the ocean’s great, easily-reached spectacles: the resident sardine school you can swim to from the beach.
